The European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS) has launched a series of webinars on urban security issues related to this crisis, as well as a collaborative platform that brings together initiatives developed by local and regional authorities to address the security issues they face during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the framework of deconfinement, EFUS and the Plateforme de la vie nocturne organised two task forces online to reflect on the consequences of deconfinement for nightlife.

EFUS also continues to organise weekly webinars on topics related to overcoming the health crisis, such as an online conference on the importance of emergency planning in managing the sanitary crisis.

EFUS, jointly with representatives of European cities, discussed the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on cities and regions, the lessons learned and ways to prepare better for future challenges, during a workshop organised online by the Urban Agenda Partnership, on 16 October.

Online resources

EFUS highlighted in an article the impact of Covid-19 on the use of technology and the protection of fundamental rights.

A partner in the PACTESUR project (“Protecting Allied Cities Against Terrorism by Securing Urban Areas”) led by the city of Nice (France), EFUS is publishing a series of articles by the project’s experts with the aim of contributing to the European debate on the protection of public spaces against terrorist threats. One of them deals with the question of insecurities and fears in public spaces in a post-lockdown urban environment.
